The Boston common is the opening point of the Freedom Trail and is recognised to be one of the oldest parks in the USA. The Boston Common is a vast space and is just about 50 acres large. In Boston there is an organisation of linked parks that are commonly identified as the Emeralds Necklace - The Boston Common is the anchor for this park that winds through many of Boston's neighbourhoods. Cattle grazed on the Common until 1830 and 1817 was the year that public hangings stopped on the Common. Previous to this and before the Revolution British troops camped on Boston Common where in 1775 they left to face colonial resistance at Lexington and Concord.  

The Freedom Trail, which is a sight not to miss - it shows scenes of significant events in Boston and the nations fight for freedom. The Freedom Park is recognised as a National Recreation Trail and is three miles long. The Trail is a walking tour of 16 sites and structures of momentous importance. The tours last an hour and a half and leave from the Visitors Centre on State Street. Throughout the spring, summer and autumn there are tours leaving at regular intervals. 

Boston's Chinatown which is located in-between the city's Financial District and the Theatre District and is one of the most heavily populated districts in Boston. Everyone is drawn to the district because it has large selections of Asian restaurants and bakeries where you can sample many dishes. Chinatown centre was opened in 2005c and provides the residents with English classes, childcare and social opportunities.
